Ceiling Fan Peripheral Vision

A sudden onset of severe throbbing eye pain headaches blurred vision rainbow halos around lights red eyes nausea and vomiting.

Ceiling fan peripheral vision.

Does anyone else see flickering in their peripheral vision. I occasionally have this flickering in my peripheral vision that is just like the shadow that a ceiling fan with a light on it throws on the ceiling. I also have static look on the periphery of my vision on the entire right half of my left eye toward my nose. The thing is that sometimes my vision seems to vibrate a little mostly in my peripheral vision it seems to be happening mainly when coming from a dark area and entering a bright one but this isn t always the case.

The first time it happened i went to the er but they said i just had a headache i did have one the worst i had ever had they. Mainly artificial light would seem to shimmer a bit. I closed my eyes and watched they lasted only a minute or so but i didn t detect any spin. It is something like viewing things through a rotating fan blade which would be revolving about 150 rpm.

I m not going insane i think out of the corner of my right eye i can see something that appears to be a spinning color blob my mind registers it as a ceiling fan but when i look at it it moves and there s no reflective surface that could reflect it. Once i came back inside. Starting 4 years ago when i took a very bad buck from a 3yo horse i was training i have experienced what seems like pinwheels ceiling fans kaleidoscope colors in my vision. Some patients notice this visual discomfort when walking down an aisle at a store and seeing objects moving in their peripheral vision.

Sensitivity to objects in motion can also be seen in patients with migraine. It did look like ceiling fan flutter but in all corners of my vision. I have noticed that about one or two times per week during the last 4 5 months that early in the mornings i get a mild flickering of my vision. It s a medical emergency.

I ll explain a little more just in case if you have an idea what s going on and need more information. Mostly when going to a dark room from light or vice versa. This seems silly to bring up but otoh who knows maybe others have experienced this. I had the peripheral vision fluttering this morning after looking at the sky for about 3 minutes just before dawn.

I had laser for a retinal hole almost 3 weeks ago and i have a black blind spot 4 black dots but i don t see them all of the time. When my eyes are in this condition it is very difficult to read because i must slow my rate of comprehension while my brain makes out words behind the flashings. Has never lasted more that 30 minutes to and hour and once gone. There are times when i see swirling lights like a brightly lit ceiling fan mostly in my peripheral vision.

Sometimes its peripheral sometimes the effect is in a shape like a circle directly in my line of sight. Sometimes it s just a blotch. Please offer some other. What do you mean by ceiling fan effect.

Some migraine patients get a dizzy or off balance sensation when riding in a car and seeing the scenery move by the car.
